COURT TRIAL OF AL-SANADRA CASE

The court session which was scheduled for 11th March 2019 did not take place. The court’s police informed the lawyers’ panels that court session was postponed to unknown date. On 10th March 2019, the Khartoum North court-police officially informed the two panels of lawyers that, the scheduled court session of 11th March 2019 was postponed to unknown date because the case file has not been brought back from the president’s office. Therefore, they (Lawyers) should follow up on rescheduling of the next court session when the court receives the case file. It was according to judicial authority in Khartoum State instruction, the case file was sent to the president’s office on 9th January 2019 seeking the opinion of the president about the deceased Mr. Ahmed Adam Shambul (Ahmed Adaroub).

Recommendations/ Appeals HUDO urges all the concerned, especially:
v The Sudan court to conduct the trial fairly
v The activists, defenders and supporters to keep on attending court sessions
v The diplomatic missions and embassies to observe the court sessions
v The Sudan and international media to give full coverage for the court
