Injuring a medical staff in Kadogli

                                              ARMED PEOPLE SHOT AND INJURED A MEDICAL WORKER IN KADOGLI, SUDAN

On 25th June 2021, a nurse was shot and injured by armed people in Kadogli as he was going to work. The assailants disappeared immediately and the reason for shooting is not known. This case was reported at Kadogli police. On 25th June 2021 around 07:00 AM (Sudan local time), Mr. Ahmed Tawir was driving a bicycle from his home village (Tese) to Kadogli hospital (his place of work). As he passed through Telu neighbourhood in Kadogli, unknown armed people shot at him twice. He was severely injured on the right thigh and chest. After falling down, the assailants ran and disappeared. The victim is now at Kadogli hospital for medical care/treatment. A case was filed at Kadogli police office. One of the witnesses who rescued Mr. Ahmed narrated that, the armed people were four in number. Mr. Ahmed Tawir (36 years) is a nurse working at Kadogli hospital. Tese is a village located in a distance of about 10 km northeast Kadogli town. Telu is a neighbourhood on the eastern side of Kadogli town. Kadogli is the capital city of South Kordufan State/ Nuba Mountains. HUDO Centre is very concerned about the situation of civilians in conflict areas and calls upon;
· Sudan government to immediately address the state of insecurity in South Kordufan/ Nuba Mountains. · Sudan government to ensure that the safety of civilians in conflict areas is guaranteed.
· Sudan government to dissolve militias and disarm people with unlicensed firearms.
