Killing and looting cattle near Abu Jibaiha

                                       ARMED MEN KILLED A FARMER AND LOOTED HIS CATTLE IN ABU-JIBAIHA, SUDAN

On 7th October 2021, Mr. Eldaw Amir Bashir was shot dead by armed men dressed in PDF and RSF uniform. They also looted his cattle from his compound. This incident happened in Tayba village of Abu-Jibaiha. The case was reported against anonymous at Abu-Jibaiha police but, there was no response. On 7 th October 2021 around 3:00AM (Sudan local time), about fifteen (15) armed men dressed in People Defense Force (PDF) and Rapid Support Force (RSF) uniforms invaded Mr. Eldaw Amir Bashir’s home in Tayba village. They shot him (Mr. Eldaw) on the head and chest which caused his immediate death and they looted his eleven (11) cows. His body was buried by family members and residents after the postmortem was made from Abu-Jibaiha hospital. The case was reported at Abu[1]Jibaiha police but no efforts were made by police to apprehend the assailants. One of Tayba village residents informed HUDO Centre that, the crime scene is very close to Tayba military checkpoint. But the military did not intervene. Mr. Eldaw Amir Bashir (46 years old) was a cultivator and cattle keeper. The location of Tayba village is about 5 km north Abu-Jibaiha town of South Kordufan State/ Nuba Mountains. HUDO Centre is very concerned about the security situation and the safety of civilians in conflict areas and calls upon;
· Sudan government to urgently address the causes of insecurity in Nuba Mountains.
· Sudan government to ensure that police executes their duties responsibly by observing the rule of law. · Sudan government to dissolve the government militias and disarm people with unlicensed firearms.
· Sudan government to respect its international obligations.
