Attack on Attur village people

                                                 KILLING OF CIVILIAN BY RSF AND PDF SOLDIERS NEAR ABU-JIBAIHA, SUDAN

On 22nd October 2021, RSF and PDF soldiers attacked and killed some residents of Attur village as they were coming home from the mosque. The case was reported at Abu-Jibaiha police but no assailant was apprehended. On 22nd October 2021, some residents of Attur village were moving from Addaka village mosque after Friday prayers to their village. They were suddenly invaded by a group of armed soldiers who came on vehicles, dressed in Rapid Support Force and People Defense Force uniform. The assailants shot bullets at them and as a result three (3) people died immediately, the names of the dead are; Abduelgawi Ismail, Elhaj Mohammed Hussein and Ibrahim Musa Abduelgawi. Other residents escaped the gunfire. But soon after the attackers had moved away, the residents discovered that two of their members were missing. Two days later, one of the missing persons (Abdu Kororo) was found dead at Attur Mountain while the other person remains missed. This case was reported by residents of Attur village to Abu-Jibaiha police but no perpetrator was apprehended yet they are known from their nomad camp and tribe. Attur and Addaka villages are closer to each and located in Abu-Jibaiha locality of South Kordufan State/ Nuba Mountains, about 30 km west Abu-Jibaiha town and it’s mostly occupied by Kenana tribe. The accused armed group is from Hawazma tribe. The two tribes have been conflicting for the last two years. HUDO Centre is very concerned about the security situation and the safety of civilians in conflict areas and calls upon;
· Police in South Kordufan State/ Nuba Mountains to execute their duties responsibly and to apprehend the perpetrators.
· The national, international organizations and UN agencies to pay attention to the conflict areas especially during this time of the military coup.
