                                                                                    ARREST OF BABIKIR IN KADOGLI, SUDAN

On 16thNovember 2021, Mr. Babikir Mohammed Ibrahim (member of Kadogli resistance committee) was arrested by General Intelligence Service (GIS) in Kadogli. Mr. Babikir was interrogated about his involvement in the ongoing protests in Sudan. He was later released the same day after the intervention by UN agency. On 16th November 2021 around 10:00 AM (Sudan local time), Mr. Babikir Mohammed Ibrahim was arrested by five (5) soldiers of Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) from Kadogli market and taken to General Intelligence Service office. While there, he was interrogated and accused of conducting meetings with other youths to organize a demonstration. Around 3:00 PM, security personnel from UN approached GIS office enquiring about Mr. Babikir and immediately the GIS officer released him and apologized. Mr. Babikir Mohammed Ibrahim (45 years old) is an employee of World Food Program (WFP) and he is a member of Kadogli resistant committee. Kadogli is the capital of South Kordufan State/ Nuba Mountains. HUDO is very concerned about the situation of civilians in Sudan and calls upon;
· General Intelligence Service in Kadogli to stop arresting people arbitrarily.
· The prosecution office in Kadogli to immediately stop arbitrary arrests and to account for the misconduct of the security organs.
· The national, international organizations and UN agencies to pay attention especially to the conflict areas mainly during this time of the demonstrations.
