Armed robbery of two trucks passengers

                                                        PASSENGERS ROBBED BY ARMED PEOPLE NEAR ABU-KERSHOLA, SUDAN

On 1 st January 2022, nine (9) armed and masked men robbed passengers of their goods. The passengers were travelling on two different trucks. The incident happened between Elgebailat and Abu-Kershola. The two robbery cases were reported at Abu-Kershola and Elfaid Um[1]Abdalla police against anonymous but, police did not respond. On 1st January 2022, two trucks were traveling from Elrahad to Abu-Elhassan with passengers and their goods. Nine (9) armed masked men riding two tuktuks and a motorbike obstructed the passenger trucks at a point between Abu-Kershola and Elgebailat. The robbers assaulted the drivers and passengers and robbed the following items:
· Seven (7) smart phones and unspecified amount of money from drivers and passengers
· Goods (48 sacks/bags of sugar, 20 cartons of washing soap, 4 cartons of cooking oil and Other items like cakes and sweets) Afterwards, the two trucks moved to Abu-Kershola and Elfaid Um-Abdalla where they reported the two robbery incidents/ cases against anonymous at police but police did not respond. Abu-Kershola is capital of Abu-Kershola locality in South Kordufan State/ Nuba Mountains, Elfaid Um[1]Abdalla, Elgebailat and Abu-Elhassan are town and villages in Abu-Kershola locality. Elrahad is the nearest town to Abu-Kershola in North Kordufan State. HUDO Centre is very concerned about the security situation and the safety of civilians in conflict areas and calls upon;
· Police in South Kordufan State/ Nuba Mountains to execute their duties responsibly and to immediately investigate this case.
· The prosecutor in South Kordufan/ Nuba Mountains to ensure that there is rule of law.
· The security committee in South Kordufan state to dissolve and disarm militias and ensure the safety of civilians.
