Update on Arrest of Mr. Gamar Adlan by SAF in Talodi

                                                      UPDATE ON ARREST OF MR. GAMAR ADLAN BY SAF IN TALODI, SUDAN

On 31st October 2022, Mr. Gamar Adlan was arrested by SAF in Talodi town and detained in the military base of Talodi town. On 3rd November 2022, he was released from the detention after interrogation. Mr. Gamar Adlan was arrested on 31stOctober 2022, by five (5) armed soldiers dressed in Sudan Armed Force (SAF) uniform from the town’s main yard in Talodi. He was arrested amidst a public gathering which was celebrating the integration of Popular Defense Force (PDF) soldiers in SAF. He was taken to Talodi military base where he had detained incommunicado for three days. On 1st November 2022, he was interrogated by SAF officers, asked about when he arrived in Talodi town, where he lives in Talodi and about his relatives in town. On 3rd November 2022, he was released. HUDO Centre is very concerned about the situation of civilians in SK State andcalls upon;
· SAF in Talodi to stop arrest civilians.
· Sudan government to end the state of emergency in conflict areas which enables SAF to carry out arrests at will.
· Sudan government to ensure that there is rule of law.
· The SAF and authorities in South Kordufan State/ Nuba Mountains to investigate the circumstances around Mr. Gamar’s arrest by SAF Talodi and to make the findings public.
