Up to date nothing taken toward their case in terms of court procedure.
• The court sessions implemented under serious security arrangements.
• Good presence of lawyers defending the defendants, they consist of lawyers from Sudanese Association for Defending Rights and Freedom (SADRF) in corporate with Nuba Bar Association (NBA) and individual activist lawyer from Sinar and Blue Nile states.
• Now it became more clear, it is a political trials for judging the Sudan People Liberation Movement/North (SPLM/N) and those defendants are victims on the government hand. It is appeared through the prosecutor attorney questions were insisting on asking about defendants tribes and mentioned to these tribes involved in SPLM/N issues, however it appeared the ethnical targeting by the government. This made the defense lawyers object many times.
• The judge declared the coming trial sessions will be on 24th and 25th of June 2013 for continuing the cases trials procedures (except the seventy nine defendants case).
HUDO is appealing for all national and international NGOs, UN agencies, embassies, and individual activist, to attend the upcoming mentioned court sessions. In order to support the victims accused and to be eye witnesses observing how it fulfill the international justice measures.
