منظمة حقوق االنسان والتنمية Human Rights and Development Organization (HUDO) Appeal (7) Detainees of Eastern Region / Nuba Mountains Up to now no one knows the number of detainees in authorities' detentions. The following detainees are those that HUDO managed to checked their details. They are hunted and arrested from the weekly markets in Rashad and Al Abbasiya (in Rashad on Monday & Al Abbasiya on Thursday), and the rest arrested from their houses. All of them now facing bad jailing conditions and are under torture. HUDO urges for their immediate release or send them to fair court if they are facing any accusation. Also we request the security authorities to declare the place and fate of those abducted or arrested. A. Detainees in MI cell at Al Abbasiya: 1. Name: Baballa Age: 55 Years Marital status: Married (father) Occupation: Herdsman Original Residence: Al Abbasiya Date of Arrest: 24.09.2012 Place of Arrest: Al Abbasiya Arrested by: MI Accusation: Dealing in marketing weapons and ammunitions Released Recently Name: Mohammed Mahmoud Babikir Age: 65 Years Marital status: Married (father and grandfather) Occupation: Trader Original Residence: Joghaya (SPLA Control Area) Date of Arrest: 20.09.2012 Place of Arrest: Al Abbasiya Market Arrested by: MI Date of Release: 13.10.2012 Accusation: he lost some of his cattle, while his searching he found the lost cows at SPLA control area, he appealed to SPLA about it they gave them to him. When he came back home, the MI arrested him under accusation of affiliation to SPLM hence he is able to get back his loses from SPLA. B.
