COURT TRIAL OF AL-SANADRA CASE
The court session was held on 28th February 2018 at Khartoum North court before
Justice/ Abdeen Hamid Dhahi. Apart from the prosecutor, all parties were
present. The next court session is scheduled for 7th March 2018.

COURT TRIAL OF AL-SANADRA CASE
The court session was held on 28th February 2018 at Khartoum North court before
Justice/ Abdeen Hamid Dhahi. Apart from the prosecutor, all parties were
present. The next court session is scheduled for 7th March 2018.
Summary of the court session
The session started by 11:00 AM (Sudan local time) and the judge continued with
questioning the defendants.
The summary below is the defendants’ response:
The 6th Defendant: Bardab Mohammed Abakar
· I’m a resident of
Almowaileh North Al-Abbasiya town.
· I’m a member (Mujahid) of
PDF and I was armed with a personal weapon (AK-47 gun).
· On Friday 2 nd September
2016, I was at my house with other people up to midday.
· I do not have a motorbike
and I was not among Al-Sanadra’s attackers.
· I do not know and never
saw witnesses; Hassan Alzaibaq and Mohamed Elfaki, the only person that I know in Al-Sanadra is the Sheikh/ Mayor
Babikir.
The 7th Defendant: Osman Mohammed Osman
· I’m a resident of
Al-Mowaileh North Al-Abbasiya town.
· I’m a member of PDF, I
was not armed and I do not have a motorbike.
· I was not among those who
attacked Al-Sanadra and I do not even know where Al-Sanadra is.
· On Friday 2nd Sept. 2016,
I was at Bardab’s house with other people.
· I know defendants; Bardab
Mohammed, Ahmed Al-Tayeb , Alhadi Abdelrahman, Ahmed Abdelgadir, Alzaki Saleh
Alzaki, Hamid Almanzol, Abakar Fadelmowla, Saleh Ibrahim, Mohmmed Nasreldin,
Ahmed Jazim and Al-sadiq Mohammed
· I do not know witnesses
Hassan Alzaibaq and Mohamed Elfaki
The 8th Defendant: Alhadi Abdelrahman Ibrahim Almahdi
· I’m a resident of
Al-Abbasiya town.
· I’m a member (Mujahid) of
PDF and I was armed with AK 47 gun. My nickname is Lekaileek.
· On Friday 2nd Sep. 2016,
I was at my home with other people.
· I know two of the
defendants Ahmed Jazim and Alzaki Saleh but I never went with them to Hassan’s
house (the accusing witness) and I never shot him with three bullets.
· I do not know witness
Hassan Alzaibaq and had never seen him before.
The 9th Defendant: Ahmed Abdelgadir Salah Mohammed
· I’m a resident of
Al-Masan North Al-Abbasiya town.
· I’m a member (Mujahid) of
PDF and I was armed with AK-47 gun.
· On Friday 2nd Sept 2016,
I was at my home with two other people since morning up to 01:00 PM and I was
not among the attackers of Al-Sanadra.
· I know four of the
defendants; Hamid Almanzol, Abakar Fadelmowla, Mohmmed Nasreldin and Saleh
· I do not know witness
Nourein Adam Mohammed; I had just seen him at the court.
The 10th Defendant: Alzaki Saleh Alzaki Mohammed
· I’m a resident of
Al-Abbasiya town.
· I’m a member of PDF, I
was armed with AK-47 and my gun is here with court. I do not have a motorbike.
· On Friday 2nd Sept 2016,
I was at my neighbor’s house with other people up to Jummah (lunch time)
prayers and I was not among Al-Sanadra’s attackers.
· I do not know witness
Abdelraheem Adam, Elshareif Ahmed, Hassan Alzaibaq or Yousif Adam. I had never
seen them before.
· I did not shoot four
bullets to Abdelraheem Adam, I do not know that Elshareif Ahmed was a member of
PDF and I did not shoot Mohammed Abdalla (the deceased). The 11th Defendant:
Hamid Almanzol Ahmed
· I’m a resident of
Al-Abbasiya town.
· I’m a member of PDF and I
was armed with AK 47 gun which is here with this court.
· On Friday 2nd Sept 2016,
I was invited to the locality meeting by the State MP where I met Ommda Altahir
Mansour, Abakar Fadelmowla and others. I was not among Al-Sanadra’s attackers.
· I do not know witness
Emam Abdalla or Adam Senada Ahmed Alaati but I know Ahmed Adam in person and
Aljailey Adam by his face.
· I knew the late/ Abdalla
Suliman, he did not talk to me but, I heard about his death later. At the end
of this session, the judge adjourned court to 7th March 2018 at 11:00 AM (Sudan
local time) for further questioning of the remaining defendants.
Recommendations/ Appeals HUDO urges all the concerned,
especially:
· The Sudan court to
conduct the trial fairly
· The activists, defenders
and supporters to keep on attending court sessions
·The diplomatic missions
and embassies to observe the court sessions
· The Sudan and
international media to give full coverage for the court
