DEMONSTRATION AND ARRESTS IN ROSERIES
<p><b>HUDO Centre No. H.K/PS/15/022 <br> 17th March 2022 <br> PRESS STATEMENT <br> DEMONSTRATION AND ARRESTS IN ROSERIES, SUDAN</b> <br> On 15th March 2022, students demonstrated in Roseries town protesting against the drastic increase of prices for essential goods (commodities). Police arrested some of the protesting students but later released them under bail. On 15th March 2022, the students and pupils of Roseries secondary and primary schools organized a demonstration condemning the increase in prices of essential goods. The police used teargas to disperse them and arrested some students. The arrested students were released under bail the same day evening. Some of the arrested students are: <br> 1. Jalal Hassoun, 18 years old <br> 2. Ahmed Badreldin Saad, 17 years old. <br> 3. Muhanad Abduelrahman Elbadawi, 20 years <br> 4. Agsam Saleh Ahmed, 20 years old <br> 5. Aymen Aboud, 18 years old. Roseries is the second town in Blue Nile State and it connects to the capital town Damazin by bridge. <br> <br> HUDO is very concerned about the situation of civilians in Sudan and calls upon: <br> · Police in Blue Nile State (BN) to stop excessive use of force towards protesters. <br> · The prosecution office in BN to immediately stop arbitrary arrests committed by security organs. <br> · The national, international organizations and UN agencies to pay more attention to the conflict areas. <br> <br> End: For more information, please write to hudo2009@gmail.com<o:p></o:p></p>
