<p><b>HUDO Centre No.: H.K/PS/10/022 <br> 8th February 2022 <br>                                                                                                            PRESS STATEMENT <br>                                                      CIVILIAN SHOT DEAD IN ADDAKA VILLAGE (GADEIR LOCALITY), SUDAN</b> <br> On 31st January 2022, Mr. Daheeya Ibrahim was shot dead by unknown people near his village of Addaka. The murder case was reported at Kologi police but, the police did not investigate further. On 31st January 2022, Mr. Daheeya Ibrahim was shot by unknown armed people near his village Addaka. The village residents heard the gunshot and came to the scene, they found the lifeless body of Mr. Daheeya laying down with gunshot wounds on the chest. The family members of the victim reported this murder case at Kologi police office but no investigations were carried out. Police did not even visit the crime scene. Mr. Daheeya Ibrahim (45 years old) was a cultivator and cattle keeper. Addaka is a village in Gadeir locality at the border with Abu-Jibaiha locality in South Kordufan State/ Nuba Mountains. Addaka is about 30 km west Abu-Jibaiha town. HUDO is very concerned about the security situation and the safety of civilians in conflict areas and calls upon; <br> · Police in South Kordufan State/ Nuba Mountains to immediately investigate this case.<br> · The prosecutor in South Kordufan/ Nuba Mountains to ensure that there is rule of law. <br> · The security committee in South Kordufan state to dissolve and disarm militias and ensure that there’s safety of civilians. <br> <br> End: For more information please write to: hudo2009@gmail.com<o:p></o:p></p>
