Armed robbery of private car at Gardood Toro

<p><b>No. H.K/PS/31/021<br> 23<sup>rd</sup> May 2021 <br>                                                                                                            PRESS STATEMENT <br>                                          THREE TRAVELLERS ROBBED BY ARMED PDF SOLDIERS AT GARDOOD TORO, SUDAN</b> <br> On 6 th May 2021, five PDF soldiers with guns robbed three travelers at a place called Gardood Toro on the road from Talodi to Kologi, they robbed them of their belongings. This case was reported to Kologi police office but there was no action taken. On 6 th May 2021, three people/ travelers (Ms. Esraa Mohammed Ali Dedan, Mr. Adam Dafaalla Ali and the driver Mr. Ebaid) were traveling in a private car from Talodi to Kologi. When they reached at Gardood Toro, they were obstructed by five (5) armed men dressed in People Defense Force (PDF) uniform. The assailants robbed them (travelers) of their money, smart phones and luggage bags. They later allowed them to continue with their journey. On arrival, the travelers reported the case at Kologi police but, no action was taken up to date. Ms. Esraa Mohammed is 23 years old, Mr. Adam Dafaalla Ali is 40 years old) and the driver Mr. Ebaid about 38 years old. Talodi and Kologi are towns in the eastern region of South Kordufan State/Nuba Mountains. The distance between the two towns is about 50 km. Gardood Toro is a jungle/bushy area with two hills where the road passes. Currently, this is the point where armed robbery incidents are committed. HUDO is very concerned about the situation of civilians in conflict areas and calls upon; <br> · Sudan government to urgently investigate and hold to account police in SK for not executing their duties. <br> · Sudan government to urgently solve the issue of insecurity in South Kordufan/ Nuba Mountains. <br> · Sudan government to ensure the safety and security of people in conflict areas.<br> · Sudan government to dissolve militias and disarm people with unlicensed firearms. <o:p></o:p></p><p> </p><p>End: For more information please write to hudo2009@gmail.com<o:p></o:p></p>
