Insecurity in Talodi
<p><b>HUDO Centre No. H.K/PS/30/021 <br> 29th April 2021 <br> PRESS STATEMENT <br> STATE OF INSECURITY IN TALODI, SUDAN</b> <br> In April 2021, the security status in Talodi deteriorated and reports of murder and armed robbery increased. These cases were reported at police against anonymous but police did not investigate further or apprehend the perpetrators. On 4 th April 2021, Mr. Elgaili Abakar Ibrahim (35 years old) was robbed at his house in Talodi town under gun point by armed people dressed in Sudan Armed Force (SAF) uniform. 0n 5th April 2021, Mr. Kamal Elhaj Mubark (31 years old) was found dead at his house in Talodi with gunshot wounds on his head. On 25th April 2021, two armed people dressed in SAF uniform broke into a house and robbed the occupants of their phones and some money, then after they shot one occupant (Mr. Abduelghani Mohammed Suliman, 46 years old) on his abdomen causing him serious injuries. The injured person (Mr. Abduelghani) taken to Elobeid hospital for further medical treatment. All cases were reported at Talodi police against anonymous but no further investigation was done up to date which created fear among Talodi dwellers. Talodi is a town in South Kordufan State/ Nuba Mountain in a distant of about 400 km from Elobeid (the capital of North Kordufan State). HUDO is very concerned about the situation of civilians in conflict areas and calls upon;<br> · Sudan government to urgently investigate and hold to account police in SK for not executing their duties. <br> · Sudan government to urgently solve the issue of insecurity in South Kordufan/ Nuba Mountains. <br> · Sudan government to ensure the safety and security of people in conflict areas. <br> · Sudan government to dissolve militias and disarm people with unlicensed firearms. <o:p></o:p></p><p> </p><p>End: For more information please write to hudo2009@gmail.com<o:p></o:p></p>
