Armed people attack passengers near Kadogli

<p><b>No. H.K/PS/27/021 <br> 20th April 2021 <br>                                                                                                            PRESS STATEMENT <br>                                                                ARMED PEOPLE ATTACKED PASSENGERS NEAR KADOGLI, SUDAN</b> <br> On 10thApril 2021, two armed and masked men attacked (shot bullets) at a moving passenger vehicle near Kadogli. The passengers survived but the vehicle (minibus) was damaged. This case was reported to Kadogli police office but there was no action taken. On 10th April 2021, a mini bus driven by Mr. Hasseib Kowa (52 years old) was coming from Khartoum to Kadogli carrying thirteen (13) passengers all of them were women. The owner of the minibus (Mr. Hijazi Elshareif Teya) was also on board. As they approached Lafat Elameid/ Elameid bend/curve near Kadogli town, a speeding car without number plate overtook them and within a short distance, the speeding car stopped. Then two armed and masked men stepped down from the car and obstructed the way for the minibus. The driver of the minibus did not stop and the armed men shot bullets towards him and damage the front glass and punctured one of the front tyres. However, the driver and passengers managed to escape unharmed. They reported the case at Kadogli police indicating the type and colour of the car used by the attackers. But the police took no action. Kadogli is the capital city of South Kordufan State/Nuba Mountains. Lafat Elameid/ Elameid curve/ bend is near Kadogli airport at the Northern part of the town. Regularly, incidents of armed robbery had happened around this corner/ bend.
