MURDER OF MR. AL MANGOUR

<p><b>HUDO Centre No.: H.K/PS/26/021 <br> 13<sup>th</sup> April 2021 <br>                                                                                                             PRESS STATEMENT <br>                                                  MURDER OF MR. AL-MANGOUR BY UNKNOWN PEOPLE IN KADOGLI, SUDAN</b> <br> On 6th April 2021, Sheikh-Eldin Yousif Al-Mangour was shot dead by unknown people in Kadogli. The case was filed against anonymous at Kadogli police but there has been no further investigation. On 6 th April 2021, Mr. Sheikh-EldinYousif Al-Mangour together with other two farmers (Mr. Haroun Hamad and Mr. Wad Elsheikh) were gathering/ collecting wood in Mirri forest for making a charcoal. Suddenly, the two farmers heard gunshots at the side where Mr. Al-Mangour was working. They rushed towards his side only to find him dead with two bullet wounds (on his head and on his back). They observed the footsteps of the assailants and the direction they took. They reported the murder case at Kadogli police and the dead body was taken by police and community to Kadogli hospital for postmortem. Postmortem report indicated that the cause of death was the two bullet injuries. The dead body was buried by the victims’ relatives. Since then, no further investigation has been carried out by police. Mr. Sheikh-Eldin Yousif Al-Mangour was 42 years old. Mirri forest is located on the West of Kadogli town, the capital of South Kordufan State/ Nuba Mountains. HUDO is very concerned about the security situation and the safety of civilians in conflict areas and calls upon; <br> · Sudan government to hold South Kordufan State police accountable for the misconduct. <br> · Sudan government to address the state of insecurity in South Kordufan/ Nuba Mountains. <br> · Sudan government to ensure that the safety of civilians in conflict areas is guaranteed <br> · Sudan government to dissolve government militias and disarm people with unlicensed firearms.<o:p></o:p></p><p> </p><p>End: For more information please write to: hudo2009@gmail.com<o:p></o:p></p>
