Killing of a farmer with his son in Habilla
<p><b>HUDO Centre No.: H.K/PS/25/021 <br> 8<sup>th</sup> April 2021 <br> PRESS STATEMENT <br> TWO FARMERS MURDERED BY UNKNOWN PEOPLE IN KORTALA, SUDAN</b> <br> On 28thMarch 2021, Mr. Ibrahim together with his son Mr. Mujagid were tied and shot dead by unknown people in Kurtala. This case was filed against anonymous at Habilla police but there has been no further investigation. On 28thMarch2021, two tied dead bodies of Mr. Ibrahim AbounTeeya Al-Jak together with his son Mr. Mujahid Ibrahim Aboun were found by cattle keepers in Eltaital forest of Kortala. The cattle keepers reported the case to Habilla police who took the dead bodies to Habilla hospital for postmortem. After postmortem, the police handed over the dead bodies to the relatives for burial. The police did not carry out further investigations. Postmortem report indicated that, the cause of death for the two were gun shots (bullet wounds). One of the victims’ relatives informed HUDO that, before being killed, both Mr. Ibrahim and his son Mr. Mujahid were at the forest for the purpose of making charcoal. Mr. Ibrahim AbounTeeya Al-Jak (70 years old) and his son Mr. Mujahid Ibrahim Aboun (30 years old) were farmers. Eltaital forest is located in Kortala area of Habilla locality in Nuba Mountains/ South Kordufan State.
