<p> <b> No. H.K/PS/24/024 Date: 17th October 2024</b></p><h5> PRESS STATEMENT</h5><p><br></p><h6> <b> SAF SOLDIERS RAIDED A HOUSE AND INJURED TWO CIVILIANS IN KADOGLI, SUDAN</b></h6><p><br></p><p> <b>On 24th September 2024, four (4) armed SAF soldiers raided a house at Almasanae neighbourhood in Kadogli town and attempted to loot. In the process, they shot and injured two members of the house. This case was reported at Kadogli police but, the police did not even try to arrest the perpetrators or investigate.</b></p><p> On 24th September 2024 at 3:00 AM (Sudan local time), a group of four (4) armed soldiers dressed in Sudan Armed Force (SAF) uniform broke into a house occupied by a group of traders and asked them for their money and other valuable items under gunpoint. The traders resisted and this provoke the attackers to shoot at them randomly before running away. As a result, two house occupants (traders) were injured, and their names are given below:</p><p>1. Mr. Khidir Omer Mohammed (44 years old), the bullet shot fractured his right leg.</p><p>2<u>. </u>Mr. Omer Ahmed Omer (24 years old), he was shot on his right thigh (no fracture).</p><p> The two were rushed to Kadogli hospital for medical treatment and a case was reported at Kadogli central police office. However, police did not conduct any investigations or attempt to disclose the attackers or arrest them.Kadogli is the capital city of South Kordufan State/ Nuba Mountains.</p><p> HUDO Centre is concerned about the safety of civilians in Sudan during this difficult period of fighting between SAF and RSF and calls for the following:</p><p> The Sudanese Armed Forces in South Kordufan State/ Nuba Mountains to secure the civilians.</p><p> The police in Kadogli to conduct their duties responsibly and investigate this case among others.</p><p> The prosecutor in South Kordufan State/ Nuba Mountains to ensure that there is rule of law conducted.</p><p> <b>End:</b></p><p>For more information, please write to hudo2009@gmail.com</p>
