ASSASSINATION OF TWO PEOPLE IN ELFAID UM ABDALLA SUDAN

<p><b>HUDO Centre No.: H.K/PS/37/020 <br> 28th September 2020<br>                                                                                                             PRESS STATEMENT <br>                                                         ASSASSINATION OF TWO PEOPLE IN ELFAID UM-ABDALLA, SUDAN</b> <br> On 24th September 2020, Mr. Adam Ahmed and Mr. Ismail Ahmed Eltoum were shot dead by unknown people and for unknown reason in Elfaid Um-Abdalla. This murder case was reported at Elfaid Um-Abdalla police against anonymous but the police did not carry out any investigations. On 24th September 2020 at around 7:00PM (Sudan local time), Mr. Adam Ahmed and Mr. Ismail Ahmed Eltoum were seated at a relative’s house in Elfaid Um-Abdalla. An armed man with a face mask came in and shot both of them and ran away with another person who was waiting for him in a motorbike at the house gate. The neighbors saw them (assailants) driving away. The case was reported at Elfaid Um-Abdalla police and the two dead bodies were taken to Rashad town hospital for postmortem. The postmortem report indicated that both were killed by gunshots (on head and abdomen). The dead bodies were buried by their relatives at Rashad town. Up to date, the police have not taken any measures for investigations to apprehend the culprits. Both Mr. Adam Ahmed (46 years old) and Mr. Ismail Ahmed Eltoum (21 years old) were farmers. Elfaid Um-Abdalla is a small town in Abu-Kershola locality. Rashad is the capital of Rashad locality and the nearest town to Elfaid Um-Abdalla. Both towns are in Nuba Mountains/ South Kordufan State. HUDO is very concerned about the security situation and the safety of civilians in conflict areas and calls upon; <br> · Sudan government at state and central level to immediately investigate this murder case. <br> · Sudan government to address the state of insecurity in South Kordufan/ Nuba Mountains. <br> · Sudan government to ensure that the safety of civilians in conflict areas is guaranteed <br> · Sudan government to disarm people with unlicensed firearms. <br> <br> End: For more information please write to: hudo2009@gmail.com<o:p></o:p></p>
