TWO MURDER INCIDENTS IN ONE DAY WITHIN KADOGLI SUDAN

<p><b>HUDO Centre No.: H.K/PS/28/020 <br> 21<sup>st</sup> July 2020 <br>                                                                                                            PRESS STATEMENT <br>                                                            TWO MURDER INCIDENTS IN ONE DAY WITHIN KADOGLI, SUDAN</b> <br> On 20<sup>th</sup> July 2020, three people among them female were killed by gunshots in two different incidents in Kadogli for unknown reasons. All cases were reported at Kadogli police against anonymous. On 20thJuly 2020 morning hours, two farmers Mr. Yousif Mohammed Ahmed Adam (46 years old) together with his elder sister Ms. Fatima Mohammed Ahmed (57 years old) were shot by five armed people while they were cultivating at their farm in Eltomat suburb of Kadogli. Ms. Fatima died immediately and Mr. Yousif died soon after as neighbours attempted to rescue him. The two dead bodies were taken to hospital by fellow farmers from the neighbourhood for postmortem. Their bodies were later buried by relatives. The murder case was reported to Kadogli police against anonymous. The same day (20th July 2020) in the afternoon, a tuktuk driver by names of Mr. Elmasri Babikir Adam Teeya (20 years old) was found dead with gunshot wounds at Saraf-Eldai suburb of Kadogli. The dead body was taken by well-wishers to Kadogli hospital for postmortem. His body was later taken and buried by his family members and they reported the case at Kadogli police against anonymous. One of his family members informed HUDO that, Mr. Elmasri had driven/taken a passenger to Saraf<!--[if !supportFootnotes]-->[1]<!--[endif]-->Eldai and he was shot while on his way back. The two areas (Eltomat and Saraf Eldai) are close to each other and about 2 km East of Kadogli airport. Their location is also nearby (less than 3 km) the camp of Rapid Support Force, police headquarters of South Kordufan State and the airport’s military guards unit. HUDO is very concerned about the security situation and civilians’ safety in conflict areas and calls upon; <br> · Sudan government at state and central level to immediately investigate the two cases. <br> · Sudan government to address the state of insecurity in South Kordufan/ Nuba Mountains. <br> · Sudan government to ensure that the safety of civilians in conflict areas is guaranteed <br> · Sudan government to dissolve the PDF/ RSF and disarm them. <br> <br> End: For more information please write to: hudo2009@gmail.com<o:p></o:p></p>
