MURDER OF MR. EDRISS BY PDF SOLDIERS IN ELFAID SUDAN

EDRISS BY PDF SOLDIERS IN ELFAID, SUDAN</b> <br> On 30<sup>th</sup> June 2020, Mr. Edriss Ismail Daoud Jabouna was killed by PDF soldiers at his house in Elfaid Um-Abdalla for unknown reason. The case was reported at Elfaid Um-Abdalla police against the perpetrators. The perpetrators’ names were given to police but the police’s attempt to arrest them was unsuccessful. On 30thJune 2020, Mr. Edriss Ismail Daoud Jabouna was alone at his house in Elfaid Um-Abdalla when two armed Popular Defense Force (PDF) soldiers attacked, shot him and disappeared. The noise from gunshots attracted his neighbours to come and check on him only to find him laying down in a pool of blood. He mentioned the names of the two PDF soldiers that had shot him. Mr. Edriss was taken by neighbours to the health centre but he immediately died on arrival. The neighbours reported the murder case at Elfaid Um-Abdalla police against the perpetrators whose names were given. The police attempted to arrest the perpetrators but they were armed and they resisted by shooting at the police. The police ran away and did not make any further attempts to apprehend the perpetrators. Mr. Edirss Ismail Daoud Jabouna (23 years old) was a farmer. Elfaid Um-Abdalla is a small town in Abu-Kershola Locality of Nuba Mountains/ South Kordufan State. HUDO is very concerned about the security situation in conflict areas and calls upon; <br> · Sudan government at state and central level to immediately investigate this case. <br> · Sudan government to address the state of insecurity in South Kordufan/ Nuba Mountains. <br> · Sudan government to ensure rule of law and to bring the suspected perpetrators before the court. <br> · Sudan government to ensure that the safety of civilians in conflict areas is guaranteed. <br> · Sudan government to dissolve the PDF/ RSF and disarm them. <o:p></o:p></p><p> </p><p>End: For more information please write to: hudo2009@gmail.com<o:p></o:p></p>
