CIVILIAN MURDERED AND ANOTHER ONE INJURED BY PDF IN KUJURIA
<p><b>HUDO Centre No.: H.K/PS/19/020 <br> 7th June 2020 <br> PRESS STATEMENT<br> CIVILIAN MURDERED AND ANOTHER ONE INJURED BY PDF IN KUJURIA, SUDAN</b> <br> On 2nd June 2020, a group of armed PDF soldiers shot dead Mr. Ebaid Abdalla and injured Mr. Mubarak Eltoum with gunshots. The attack was at the victims' farm in Kujuria village. The victims were shot because of failure to answer questions about the whereabouts of the village’s cattle. On 2nd June 2020, while Mr. Ebaid Abdalla and Mr. Mubarak Eltoum were at the farm cultivating together with their families (wives and children), a group of armed men in Public Defense Force (PDF) uniform surrounded them. The PDF men asked them (farmers) about the location of cattle in their village. Mr. Ebaid and Mr. Mubarak replied that, they don’t know. Immediately, the PDF men shot at them as their wives and kids watched. Thereafter, the attackers went away. The bullet shots killed Mr. Ebaid instantly and seriously injured Mr. Mubark. The residents of this village buried the dead body. Mr. Mubarak (the injured) was taken to the village health centre where he is getting treatment but still in critical condition. Mr. Ebaid Abdalla (56 years) and Mr. Mubarak Eltoum (46 years) were both farmers. Kujuria is a village in Nuba Mountains/ South Kordufan State located in a distance of 35 km (approximately) west of Dilling town, it is in the territory controlled by Sudan People Liberation Army - North (SPLA-N). HUDO is very concerned about the situation of civilians in conflict areas and calls upon; <br> · Sudan government at state and central level to urgently investigate the state of insecurity in South Kordufan/ Nuba Mountains and to solve it urgently. <br> · Sudan government to ensure the safety of people in conflict areas <br> · Sudan government to dissolve the PDF/ government militias and disarm them. <br> · Sudan government to respect its international obligations towards their citizens and to respect the announced terms of the ceasefire. <o:p></o:p></p><p> </p><p>End: For more information please write to: hudo2009@gmail.com<o:p></o:p></p>
