CIVILIAN INJURED BY PDF GUNSHOTS IN KADOGLI SUDAN
<p><b>HUDO Centre No.: H.K/PS/16/020 <br> 13th May 2020 <br> PRESS STATEMENT <br> CIVILIAN INJURED BY PDF GUNSHOTS IN KADOGLI, SUDAN</b> <br> On 9<sup>th</sup> May 2020, Mr. Saeed Mohammed Saeed was seriously injured by gunshots from masked men dressed in PDF uniform. The armed men were attempting to steal from the brother of the injured at Kadogli town. The case was reported at Kadogli police office against anonymous. On the night of 9 thMay 2020 at around 10:00 PM, three armed men (with face masks) dressed in People Defense Force (PDF) uniform forcefully (at gun point) took the mobile phone of Mr. Ahmed Mohammed Saeed (brother of the injured) in front of his family house at Hai Alsouq (the market neighborhood) in Kadogli town. At the moment, Mr. Saeed Mohammed (48 years old) was inside the house but when he heard the fracas and the crowd outside with his brother, he came out to witness what was wrong. Immediately after his appearance at the gate, one of the masked men shot him two bullets on his stomach. The three armed men ran away. Saeed was taken to the hospital by his family where a surgical operation was carried out. He is still getting further treatment at the hospital. A case was filed at Kadogli police against anonymous. An observer from Kadogli town informed HUDO Centre that, for the last three (3) months and on a daily basis, Kadogli town experiences armed robbery and killings by armed men in military uniform. HUDO is very concerned about the situation of civilians in conflict areas and calls upon; <br> · Sudan government at state and central level to urgently investigate the state of insecurity in South Kordufan/ Nuba Mountains. <br> · Sudan government to ensure that police executes their duties responsibly <br> · Sudan government to ensure the safety of people in conflict areas <br> · Sudan government to dissolve the PDF and disarm them. <br> · Sudan government to respect its international obligations towards their citizens. <o:p></o:p></p><p> </p><p>End: For more information please write to: hudo2009@gmail.com<o:p></o:p></p>
