CIVILIAN SHOT AND INJURED IN KHOR ELDELEIB SUDAN
<p><b>No: H.K/PR/19/019 <br> 12th March 2019 <br> PRESS STATEMENT <br> (For immediate release) <br> CIVILIAN SHOT AND INJURED IN KHOR-ELDELEIB, SUDAN</b> <br> On 19th February 2019, Mr. Adam Ahmed Adam was shot on his thigh at his house by masked armed people for unknown reason. A case was filed by police against anonymous and no further investigations were held. Mr. Adam Ahmed Adam Hussein is 23 years old farmer and resident of Khor-Eldeleib village. Khor<!--[if !supportFootnotes]-->[1]<!--[endif]-->Eldeleib is a village in Abu-Kershola locality of South Kordufan State, in a distant of 50 km south Abu<!--[if !supportFootnotes]-->[1]<!--[endif]-->Kershola town. On 19th February 2019 after sunset, three armed people with masks on their faces came to Mr. Adam’s home and shouted his name (called him) to come out. When he came out to his house gate, one of the assailants shot him and they all ran away immediately. The bullet shot injured his thigh and he is on medical treatment. The case was filed at Khor-Eldeleib police station against anonymous and no further investigations have been carried out. HUDO is very concerned about the security status in conflict areas since many related incidents are reported. In other cases there is loss of life yet police does not carry out investigations conclusively. HUDO calls upon; <br> · Sudan government at central, state and locality levels to take its responsibility of safeguarding civilians and to carry out genuine investigations about the recurrent incidents. <br> · Police in Abu-Kershola locality to hold Khor-Eldeleib police to account for not investigating the about incident. <br> · The locality and Khor-Eldeleib police to investigate Mr. Adam’s case and to disclose the attackers and to hold them to account before courts of law. <o:p></o:p></p><p> </p><p>End: For more information please write to: hudo2009@gmail.com<o:p></o:p></p>
