HAFIZ OSMAN SUMMONED BY NISS IN ROSERIES SUDAN
<p><b>HUDO Centre No.: H.K/PR/17/019 <br> 18<sup>th</sup> February 2019 <br> PRESS STATEMENT <br> HAFIZ OSMAN SUMMONED BY NISS IN ROSERIES-SUDAN</b> <br> On 11th February 2019, NISS in Roseries summoned Mr. Hafiz Osman, interrogated him about the phrase/slogan written on walls and released him after. On 11th February 2019, National Intelligence and Security Service (NISS) in Roseries town of Blue Nile State summoned Mr. Hafiz Osman Siid-Ahmed to their office. Mr. Hafiz was interrogated for five hours about the phrases of (Tasqut Bas/ just topple the regime) that are written on many houses and office walls around Hai Elgharbi/ Western neighborhood of Roseries town where Mr. Hafiz lives. Mr. Hafiz Osman Siid-Ahmed is 34 years old, self-employed and a resident of Western neighborhood of Roseries. Since December 2018, demonstrations have been going on in many towns of Sudan including Damazin where people are demanding for their basic rights and political reforms. The security forces responded with excessive use of force towards demonstrators which caused loss of lives and many have been arrested. HUDO is very concerned about the situation of youth during this time of demonstrations in Sudan.
