<p>     <b> No.: H.K/PS/09/024                                   </b>                                                                                                        <b>   Date: 3rd May 2024</b></p><h5>                                                                      PRESS STATEMENT</h5>                                                                                         (For Immediate Release) <h5>                                            SAF ARRESTED TWO YOUTH IN DAMAZIN, SUDAN</h5><p>           <b> On 3rd  April 2024, the Sudan Armed Force (SAF) arrested Mr. Badreldin Elamein and Mr. Babikir Adam accusing them         to be RSF soldiers. The two were released on 7th April 2024 after being interrogated and intimidated.</b></p><p>           On 3rd April 2024, a group of Sudan Armed Force (SAF) soldiers arrested Mr. Badreldin Elamein Temsah and Mr.         Babikir Adam from the street and took them to military garrison in Damazin. While at Damazin military garrison, the two were interrogated, intimidated and tortured (beaten). SAF accused them of belonging to Rapid Support Force (RSF) soldiers. On 7th April 2024, the two youth were released unconditionally.</p><p>         Mr. Badreldin Elamein Temsah (33 years old) self-employed, resident of Damazin but originally from Roro village. Mr. Babikir Adam (34 years) is self-employed and resident of Damazin town. Damazin town is the capital city of Blue Nile state.</p><p> <b>HUDO Centre</b> is concerned about the safety of civilians in Sudan during this difficult period of fighting Between SAF and RSF and calls for the following:</p><p>   The Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) in Blue Nile to release other civilians that could be in their detention.</p><p> The commander of SAF in Blue Nile State to investigate the circumstance behind the arrest of the two youth and make the finding public.</p><p> The Sudanese Armed Forces to stop the arrest of civilians.</p><p>     <b>End:</b></p><p>For more information, please write to hudo2009@gmail.com</p>
