MURDER OF MR. ABDALLA MURSAL BY SAF SOLDIER IN TALODI,SUDAN

ABDALLA MURSAL BY SAF SOLDIER IN TALODI, SUDAN</b></h6> <p><br></p> <p>  <b>  On 1st October 2024, SAF soldier shot and killed Mr. Abdalla Mursal in Altegula goldmine of Talodi for refusing to comply with the soldier’s order. This case was reported at Talodi police but police did not act accordingly.</b></p> <p>    On 1st October 2024, Sudan Armed Force (SAF) conducted an operation of collecting the personal knives from civilians at Altegula gold mine. Mr. Abdalla Mahadi Mursal did not comply with the order and refused to give in his knife. This prompted an argument between him and one of the SAF- soldiers by names of Mohammed Awafi. Immediately, the soldier shot him dead and all of them (soldiers) went away. The community members within the gold-mine took the dead body to Talodi hospital and reported the case at Talodi police office before burial. Up to-date, the perpetrator is kept back within the Talodi military base and was not handed over to the police.</p> <p>   Mr. Abdalla Mahadi Mursal (40 years old) is a labourer at Altegula goldmine. Altegula goldmine is one of Talodi goldmines. Talodi is the capital town of Talodi locality in South Kordufan State/ Nuba Mountains.</p> <p>  Having a personal knife is very common for adults (men) in South Kordufan/ Nuba Moountains as part of the masculinity.</p> <p>   HUDO Centre is concerned about the safety of civilians in Sudan during this difficult period of fighting between SAF and RSF and calls for the following:</p> <p> The Sudanese Armed Forces in South Kordufan State/ Nuba Mountains to secure the civilians and respect the rule of law.</p> <p> The police in Talodi to conduct their duties responsibly and investigate this case among others.</p> <p> The prosecutor in South Kordufan State/ Nuba Mountains to ensure that there is rule of law conducted.</p> <p>    <b> End:</b></p> <p>  For more information, please write to hudo2009@gmail.com</p>
