FOUR PEOPLE KILLED AND TWO INJURED IN AN ARMED ROBBERY NEARKADOGLI, SUDAN

<p><b>No.: H.K/PS/20/023 <br> Date: 11th June 2023<br> </b><br> <b>PRESS STATEMENT</b><br> <b>FOUR PEOPLE KILLED AND TWO INJURED IN AN ARMED ROBBERY NEAR </b><b>KADOGLI, SUDAN<br> </b><br> <b>On 1st June 2023, eight (8) unidentified armed people killed four (4) persons, injured other two and robbed them. The victims were passengers traveling from Kadogli to Altais village to attend the weekly market. This case was reported at Kadogli police, but the police did not respond.</b> <br> <br> On 1st June 2023, a commercial vehicle carrying passengers and goods was traveling from Kadogli to Altais village for the weekly market. At Kulolo area, they were obstructed by eight (8) armed people shooting at the vehicle which caused death of four (4) persons, injuring two (2) and the assailants also looted four million Sudanese Pound (approximately $ 8000 USD) from one of the deceased people (Mr. Rahal). Thereafter, the assailants walked away and disappeared. All of the people killed (deceased) were traders and their names are;Mr. Ali Rahal (37 years old), Mr. Ibrahim Mohamed Tamim (45 years old), Mr. Mohamed Abdo (27 years old) and Mr. Mohamed Noor (29 years old). The names of the injured people are; Ms. Amna Naway (35 years old) a teacher was injured in her abdomen and Mr. Awad Karofi (42 years old) a trader was injured in his back. Currently, the injured people are receiving medical treatment at Kadogli Referral Hospital. The case was reported and filed at Kadogli central police but no investigation was made. Kadogli is the capital of South Kordufan state/ Nuba Mountains. Altais is a village about 35 km south of Kadogli town within the territory controlled by Sudan People Liberation Army – North (SPLA-N). The weekly market at Altais village is also attended by people from the government controlled territory.
