SAF SOLDIERS KILLED AND ROBBED CIVILIAN IN TALODI, SUDAN
<p><b>No. H.K/PS/03/023 <br> 9th February 2023</b><br> <b> PRESS STATEMENT</b><br> <b> SAF SOLDIERS KILLED AND ROBBED CIVILIAN IN TALODI, SUDAN</b><br> On 24th January 2023, Mr. Suliman Eltayeeb was killed and robbed by SAF soldiers in Talodi<br> market. A case was filed at Talodi police but no efforts was made by police in investigating this<br> case.<br> On 24th January 2023 at around 03:00 AM (Sudan time), three armed men in Sudan Armed Force<br> (SAF) uniform attacked Mr. Suliman Eltayeed Mohammed Ali together with his brother Mr. Osman<br> Eltayeeb who were sleeping (resting) at Talodi market after they had arrived late from travel. The<br> attackers first tried to rob the two brothers but they resisted and fought back. As a result, one of the<br> attackers shot (a bullet) Mr. Suliman on his head and he died instantly. Thereafter, the assailants<br> robbed the available money and smart phones from the dead person and the surviving brother before<br> disappearing.<br> This incident happened in a short distance (about twenty metres) from security police office but no<br> intervention was made by police till 06:00 AM when the dead body was taken to hospital for postmortem<br> and buried afterwards. This case was reported at Talodi police but no investigation was carried out.<br> Mr. Suliman Eltayeeb Mohammed Ali (35 years old), Mr. Osman Eltayeeb Mohammed Ali (27 years<br> old) were brothers and laborers at the gold mines. Talodi is the capital of Talodi locality in South<br> Kordufan State/ Nuba Mountains and it has many gold mines around it.<br> <br> <b>HUDO </b>is very concerned about the situation of civilians in Sudan and calls upon:<br> · SAF and police in Talodi to immediately investigate this case.<br> · The prosecutor in South Kordufan State/ Nuba Mountains to ensure that there is rule of law.<br> · The security committee in South Kordufan State/ Nuba Mountains to ensure the safety of<br> civilians as well as to control over SAF soldiers.<br> <br> <b>End:</b><br> For more information, please write to hudo2009@gmail.com<o:p></o:p></p>
