RSF SOLDIERS KILLED TWO CIVILIANS AND ROBBED OTHERS NEAR ABUJIBAIHA, SUDAN
<p><b>No.: H.K/PS/04/023 <br> 10th February 2023</b><br> <b> PRESS STATEMENT</b><br> <b> RSF SOLDIERS KILLED TWO CIVILIANS AND ROBBED OTHERS NEAR ABUJIBAIHA, SUDAN</b><br> On 1st February 2023, a group of armed and masked RSF soldiers killed two travelers and robbed<br> others near Abu-Jibaiha. The case was reported to Abu-Jibaiha police but, there was no<br> effective response.<br> On 1st February 2023 at around 08:00 AM (Sudan time), more than ten armed Rapid Support Force<br> (RSF) soldiers in uniform obstructed a traveling truck with passengers at a point between Addaka<br> village and Abu-Jibaiha town. The truck was coming from Tembaira weekly market to Abu-Jibaiha after<br> spending a night at Addaka. The attackers (RSF-soldiers) were putting on masks and had tuktuk (three<br> wheeler) automobiles.<br> The attackers shot at the passengers and subsequently killed Mr. Abduelkareem Edris Gismalla (42<br> years) and Mr. Mohammed Ali Mohammed (39 years). The two were directly shot on the chests. After<br> shooting and the truck was forced to stop, the assailants robbed all passengers of their available money<br> and smart phones. During the process of robbing, another tuktuk arrived at the scene and the attackers<br> assaulted the people on the tuktuk and robbed them too. They even took away (robbed) their tuktuk<br> and disappeared.<br> The truck with the passengers continued the journey with the two dead bodies to Abu-Jibaiha where<br> postmortem was done and thereafter burial. This very case was reported at Abu-Jibaiha police however<br> up to date no investigation was carried by police.<br> Abu-Jibaiha is the capital of Abu-Jibaiha locality in South Kordufan State/ Nuba Mountains. The location<br> of Addaka village is about 25 km west of Abu-Jibaiha town. Tembaira is about 70 km southwest of AbuJibaiha within the territory of Sudan People Liberation Army – North (SPLA-N).
