MURDER OF MR. HUSSEIN HAMOUDA NEAR KOLOGI, SUDAN

HUSSEIN HAMOUDA NEAR KOLOGI, SUDAN</b></h6> <p>    <b>On 29th August 2024, unknown assailants near Kologi shot and killed Mr. Hussein and robbed parts of his motorbike. The perpetrators fled to unknown location. The incident was reported at Kologi police, but the police did not investigate.</b></p> <p>    On 29th August 2024, Mr. Hussein Mohammed Hamouda (47 years old) travelled with his motorbike from Kologi to Alafzar gold mine (his workplace). The following day, he did not come to work yet he did not come back home. His relatives and friends started searching for him only to find his dead body with gunshots and his motorbike was dismantled and most of its parts were looted. They found footsteps of six persons at the scene. They took his dead body back to Kologi and reported the case at Kologi police office before burial. Up to date, police has not investigated the case.</p> <p>Mr. Hussein Mohammed Hamouda (57 years old) was known as political and social activist and member of Umma Party. Kologi is the main town of Gadeir locality in South Kordufan State/ Nuba Mountains. Alafzar gold mine is 25 km southwest of Kologi town.</p> <p>  <b>HUDO Centre</b> is concerned about the safety of civilians in Sudan during this difficult period of fighting between SAF and RSF and calls for the following:</p> <p> The Sudanese Armed Forces in South Kordufan State/ Nuba Mountains to secure the civilians.</p> <p> The police in Kologi to conduct their duties responsibly and investigate this case among others.</p> <p> The prosecutor in South Kordufan State/ Nuba Mountains to ensure that there is rule of law conducted.</p> <p>  <b>End: </b>For more information, please write to hudo2009@gmail.com</p>
