Civilian shot injured by unidentified person in Khor Eldeleib

<p><b>HUDO Centre No.: H.K/PS/49/022 <br> 15th November 2022 <br>                                                                                                             PRESS STATEMENT <br>                                    CIVILIAN SHOT AND INJURED BY UNIDENTIFIED PERSON IN KHOR-ELDELEIB, SUDAN</b> <br> On 10th November 2022, unidentified person shot and injured Mr. Aboud Omer Kajo while he was going to his farm in Khor-Eldeleib. This case was reported at Khor-Eldeleib police but, there was no response from Police. On 10th November 2022, unidentified person (face masked) armed with a gun, shot Mr. Aboud Omer Kajo and ran away. Mr. Kajo was shot while he was walking from his house in Khor-Eldeleib to his farm. The bullet injured Mr. Kajo’s right arm and he was subsequently taken by the community members to Khor-Eldeleib health centre where he received first aid before his family transferred him to Elobeid hospital. His family members reported this case at Khor-Eldeleib police but, the police did not carry out investigations. Mr. Aboud Omer Kajo (57 years old) is a teacher and farmer. He belongs to Kawaleib tribe/ Nuba and he’s a resident of Khor-Eldeleib. Khor-Eldeleib is small town in Abu-Kershola locality of South Kordufan State/ Nuba Mountains. Mr. Kajo’s farm is about 2km south Khor-Eldeleib town. Elobeid is the capital city of North Kordufan State and it’s in a distance of about 150 km north Khor-Eldeleib. HUDO Centre is very concerned about the security situation and the safety of civilians in conflict areas and calls upon; <br> · Police in South Kordufan State/ Nuba Mountains to execute their duties responsibly and to immediately investigate this case. <br> · The prosecutor in South Kordufan/ Nuba Mountains to ensure that there is rule of law. <br> · The security committee in South Kordufan state to dissolve and disarm militias and safeguard the civilians. <br> <br> End: For more information please write to: hudo2009@gmail.com<o:p></o:p></p>
