Murder of father and son in Saraf Eldai
<p><b>HUDO Centre No.: H.K/PS/38/022 <br> 14th July 2022 <br> PRESS STATEMENT <br> MURDER OF FATHER AND SON IN SARAF - ELDAI, SUDAN<br> </b>On 2nd July 2022, Mr. Elsanousi and his son Mohammed were found dead by community members near the deceased farm in Saraf – Eldai. The killers and their motives are remained unknown. This murder case was reported to Kadogli police but there was no further investigation. On 2nd July 2022, Mr. Jafar Elsanousi together with his son Mohammed went to work at their farm in Sarf – Eldai. Later during the day, fellow farmers found their dead bodies near the victim’s (Elsanousi) farm. They took the dead bodies to Kadogli hospital for postmortem. The postmortem (results) indicated that the cause of death was gunshot wounds and chest stab wounds. A case was reported to Kadogli police by the victims’ relatives before burial. The bodies were buried at their village of Saraf-Eldai. By the time of issuing this statement, police has not made any efforts to apprehend the perpetrators. Mr. JafarElsanousi (51 years old) was General Intelligence Service (GIS) member/ soldier in Kadogli and farmer. Mr. Mohammed Jafar Elsanousi (18 years old) is the son of Jafar and student. Saraf – Eldai village is about 30 km northeast Kadogli town/ the capital of South Kordufan State/ Nuba Mountains.
