Passengers robbed near Elfaid

<p><b>HUDO Centre No.: H.K/PS/34/022 <br> 23 June 2022 <br>                                                                                                             PRESS STATEMENT <br>                                              PASSENGERS ROBBED BY ARMED PEOPLE NEAR ELFAID UM-ABDALLA, SUDAN</b> <br> On 27th May 2022, six armed men with masks riding motorbikes robbed passengers on a truck near Elfaid Um-Abdalla. The case was reported by the driver and victims to Elfaid Um-Abdalla police but, police did not respond. On 27th May2022, a truck driven by Mr. Jamal Adam was carrying goods and passengers from Tandik to Elfaid Um-Abdalla. When they reached at Metaira canal/ sluiceway, they were stopped by six (6) armed men putting masks and they had motorbikes. The assailants robbed the passengers of their money and smart phones. Thereafter, the assailants disappeared. The truck driver continued his journey to Elfaid Um-Abdalla where they (with the victims) reported the robbery case at the police. But, police did not respond. Elfaid Um-Abdalla is a town in Abu-Kershola locality and Tandik in Rashad locality of South Kordufan State/ Nuba Mountains. Tandik is about 31 km East of Elfaid Um-Abdalla. Metaira canal is about 11 km East of Elfaid Um-Abdalla and the road between the two towns crosses this canal.
