Murder of two herdsmen in Talodi
<p><b>HUDO Centre No.: H.K/PS/31/022 <br> 21st June 2022 <br> PRESS STATEMENT <br> MURDER OF TWO HERDSMEN IN TALODI, SUDAN</b> <br> On 28thMay 2022,Mr. Abass Eleri and Mr. Ahmed Abu-Selaib (Nuba herdsmen) were killed by two armed Arab nomads near Talodi. According to the eyewitness, the killers are known by name but police did not arrest them. On 28thMay2022, Mr. Abass Eleri (33 years) and Mr. Ahmed Abu-Selaib (30 years) had gone following the footsteps of their lost cow. They were obstructed by two armed Arab nomad men (Abass and Ahmed) at a place called Elhegairat. They had a short conversation (exchange) and immediately the armed Arab nomads shot them dead. The eye witness (who was hiding) recognized the murderers and knows their names (preferred not to be identified). The murder case was reported to Talodi police by the victims’ relatives and the eyewitness. The two names of the killers were recorded at police but police could not arrest them even when their nomadic camp is known. The dead bodies were collected by the relatives and buried in Talodi town. Talodi is the main town of Talodi locality in Nuba Mountains/ South Kordufan State. Elhegairat is about 22 km southeast of Talodi town.
