Murder of Ali Hamad in Abu Jibaiha

<p><b>HUDO Centre No.: H.K/PS/28/022 <br> 9th May 2022 <br>                                                                                                            PRESS STATEMENT <br>                                                                         MURDER OF MR. ALI HAMAD IN ABU-JIBAIHA, SUDAN</b> <br> On 28th April 2022, armed people shot and killed Mr. Ali Hamad Sediq near Abu-Jibaiha for unknown reason. The murder case was reported at Abu-Jibaiha police but the police did not investigate further. On 28thApril 2022, Mr. Ali Hamad Sediq was driving his tuktuk/ motorbike from Abu-Jibaiha to Tagmala and he was accompanied by his friend - Mr. Al-Manzoul Agabadour. Along the way, unknown people (attackers) shot bullets at them and as a result, Mr. Ali Hamad died instantly with chest trauma but Mr. Al-Manzoul survived. The attackers disappeared afterwards without taking anything from them. Mr. Al-Manzoul managed to call the family and took the dead body to Abu-Jibaiha hospital for postmortem before it was buried. The family of the deceased together with Mr. Manzoul reported the murder case against anonymous at Abu-Jibaiha police but police did not carry out investigations. Mr. Ali Hamad Sediq (26 years old) was a tuktuk driver and Mr. Al-Manzoul Agabadour (24 years old) is a trader. Abu-Jibaiha is the capital town of Abu-Jibaiha locality in Nuba Mountains/ South Kordufan State. Tagmala is a village about 22 km north of Abu-Jibaiha town. HUDO Centre is very concerned about the security situation and the safety of civilians in conflict areas and calls upon; <br> · Police in South Kordufan State/ Nuba Mountains to execute their duties responsibly and to immediately investigate this case. <br> · The prosecutor in South Kordufan/ Nuba Mountains to ensure that there is rule of law. <br> · The security committee in South Kordufan state to dissolve and disarm militias and ensure the safety of civilians. <br> <br> End: For more information please write to: hudo2009@gmail.com<o:p></o:p></p>
