Arrest of Mr. Adam and others in Damazin

ADAM AND OTHERS IN DAMAZIN, SUDAN</b> <br> On 7th April 2022, Mr. Adam Mohammed Adam was arrested by police from the roadside in Damazin. He found other ten (10) detainees in the police cell. They were tortured and held incommunicado at police criminal investigation unit for four (4) days without opening a case against them. On 7 th April 2022, Mr. Adam Mohammed Adam was arrested by a group of policemen in civilian clothes from the roadside within his neighbourhood. He was detained at police criminal investigation unit in Damazin where he was interrogated about participating in a demonstration. During detention, he was beaten and held in a bad cell with no ventilation. In the same custody, he found other ten detainees that were experiencing similar treatment. They were detained without any legal directive and no case was filed against them. Police intimidated them that (falsely) they were charged for six months imprison. They were all released on 10th April 2022 without any condition. Mr. Adam Mohammed Adam (24 years old), is a social worker at World Relief Organization. HUDO Centre couldn’t get the full names of the other ten (10) detainees apart from Mr. Elsadiq, Mr. Eltayeeb and Mr. Ibrahim. Damazin is the main town of Blue Nile State.
