RSF robbed Passengers near Um Dehaileeb

<p><b>HUDO Centre No. H.K/PS/21/022 <br> 6th April 2022 <br>                                                                                                             PRESS STATEMENT <br>                                          PASSENGERS ROBBED BY ARMED RSF SOLDIERS NEAR UM-DEHAILEEB, SUDAN</b> <br> On 29th March 2022, a group of armed RSF soldiers killed one passenger and robbed others passengers of their goods, money and other things near Um-Dehaileeb. The robbery cases were reported at Abu-Jibaiha police but, police did not respond. On 29th March 2022, four trucks with passengers and goods were traveling separately from Tembaira to Abu-Jibaiha. They were coming from a weekly market. Rapid Support Force (RSF) soldiers in uniform camped at the roadside obstructed the traveling trucks. They shot bullets to the first truck that resulted in death of one passenger named Mr. Shumbair Alkateb Angalo Kalo (42 years old). They looted all passengers on the four trucks under gunpoint. They took their money, smart phones and many sacks of seed (Sesame and peanut). After looting, they released the trucks and passengers to continue with their trips. All the four truck drivers with their passengers stopped and reported this case at Abu-Jibaiha police but police did not respond. Um-Dehaileeb is at the border of Gadeir locality with Abu-Jibaiha locality in South Kordufan State/Nuba Mountains. It’s about 25 km south of Abu-Jibaiha town. Tembaira is a village in South Kordufan State/ Nuba Mountains but in a territory controlled by SPLA-N. HUDO Centre is very concerned about the security situation and the safety of civilians in conflict areas and calls upon; <br> · Police in South Kordufan State/ Nuba Mountains to execute their duties responsibly and to immediately investigate this case. <br> · The prosecutor in South Kordufan/ Nuba Mountains to ensure that there is rule of law. <br> · The security committee in South Kordufan state to dissolve and disarm militias and ensure the safety of civilians. <br> <br> End: For more information please write to: hudo2009@gmail.com<o:p></o:p></p>
